Crinis ("we", "our", "us") operates the Crinis mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our app.

Information We Collect

When you use Crinis, we collect the following information:

• Photos you upload for hairstyle processing (which may contain face data)
• Basic device information (device model, OS version) for app compatibility
• Usage analytics (features used, session duration) to improve the app experience

We do NOT collect your name, email, or any personally identifiable information unless you contact us directly.

Face Data & Facial Information

What face data we collect

When you upload or take a photo in Crinis, the photo may contain your face. This photo — including any facial features visible in it — is the only face-related data the app collects. Crinis does NOT perform facial recognition, create face prints, build biometric identifiers, or extract any facial geometry data.

How we use face data

Your photo is sent to our third-party AI processing provider, fal.ai, solely to generate a hairstyle transformation. The AI analyses your photo to apply the selected hairstyle and returns a new image. No facial recognition, identification, or biometric analysis is performed.

Third-party sharing of face data

Your photo is transmitted to fal.ai (https://fal.ai) for processing. fal.ai receives the photo, generates the hairstyle result, and returns the output image. fal.ai processes photos transiently and does not permanently store uploaded images after processing is complete. fal.ai does not use your photos to train AI models. fal.ai's privacy policy governs their handling of data: https://fal.ai/privacy.

Data retention

Photos (including face data) sent to fal.ai are processed in real-time and discarded by fal.ai after the result is generated. Crinis does not store your uploaded photos on any server. Generated result images are stored only on your local device. No face data is retained by Crinis or fal.ai after processing.

User consent

Before your first hairstyle generation, Crinis displays a consent dialog that explains your photo will be sent to fal.ai for AI processing. You must agree before any photo data is transmitted. You may decline, and no data will be sent.

How We Use Your Photos

• Photos are sent to our AI processing partner, fal.ai (https://fal.ai), solely to generate hairstyle transformations
• Photos are processed in real-time and are NOT permanently stored on our servers or by fal.ai
• Generated result images are returned to your device and stored locally
• We do not use your photos for training AI models or any purpose other than generating your requested transformation
• Your explicit consent is obtained before any photo is transmitted to fal.ai

Data Storage & Retention

• Uploaded photos (including any face data) are processed by fal.ai and discarded immediately after generation
• Neither Crinis nor fal.ai permanently retains your uploaded photos
• Generated results are stored only on your local device
• Saved looks are stored locally using your device storage and are never uploaded to our servers
• Usage credits are tracked locally on your device

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• fal.ai (https://fal.ai) — AI image processing. Receives your photo (which may contain face data) to generate hairstyle transformations. Photos are processed transiently and are not permanently stored. fal.ai does not use your photos for model training. fal.ai's privacy policy: https://fal.ai/privacy
• Apple App Store — App distribution
• Expo / React Native — App framework

We require that any third-party service we share data with provides protections for your data that are at least as protective as our own practices described in this policy.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Decline the consent dialog and prevent any photo data from being sent to fal.ai
• Delete all saved looks from the app at any time
• Uninstall the app to remove all local data
• Request information about any data we may hold
• Request deletion of any data by contacting us

Since we don't store your photos or personal information on our servers, most data exists only on your device.

Children's Privacy

Crinis is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the app. Changes are effective immediately upon posting.
